Dan Emings has been part of the SMI team for five years, bringing with him more than 30 years of experience in the construction industry.

Throughout his career, Dan has worked his way up through various departments in mobile and modular home factories, gaining hands-on knowledge of nearly every job in the manufacturing process.

Today, as Production Manager at SMI Homes, he oversees the entire manufacturing operation, helping ensure each home is built efficiently, safely, and on schedule.

What Dan appreciates most about working at SMI Homes is the strong commitment to quality. For him, every home is built as if it were his own, and he takes pride in leading a team that maintains the high standards SMI is known for. Dan believes the company’s focus on quality over quantity is what truly sets SMI Homes apart, and that same commitment is what originally drew him to join the team.

Outside of work, Dan enjoys spending time with his wife, Jamie, and their children, especially attending his son’s and daughter’s sporting events. He also enjoys traveling, hiking, watching Pittsburgh Pirates baseball games, and building custom furniture. One fun fact about Dan is that he is also the co-owner of a pop-up pizza vendor called The Brick Oven, combining his love for craftsmanship with a passion for great food.

His commitment to teamwork and pride in the finished product play an important role in continuing SMI’s reputation for building homes that families can trust for years to come.
